Digital and classic photography concepts are so confusing that most people have no idea what is what, Some people are simply too young to have owned an old film camera, others don’t care about electronics so much. People who do know what they are talking about usually fight about it. Some consider digital photography a grosser alteration of reality, others claim that classic cameras are outdated and not worth the effort. And not only common camera users enter the debate on this matter. Those who use digital photography as an art, are aware of the advantages of classic photography as well, and can’t tell witch is best.

The ones that stand behind classic photography say that the digitals arts have managed to alter and disguise reality in such a way that the ordinary viewer of a certain picture is not even allowed to express his beliefs. As examples, let’s take the ‘macro’ function witch every camera has, and the effects it can create depending on the distance between the posing subject and the lenses. The macro returns different shades of faded colors and objects, therefore if someone looks at that certain picture he will be forced to look at the center subject, as everything else is blurred already. Classic photography militants argue this function and state that the picture can not be individually critiqued anymore, because it will transmit the same image to all viewers. Those who want to comment upon the macro-ed picture will not be able to create an outline because they are forced to view only the central piece. Some voices militate even against flash. They say that if a picture is taken at night, using a flash , then it will return a digital photography image. They claim that night pictures are not meant to strike out certain details and they should only reveal the big picture, covered in darkness and shades.

On the other hand, those who are not as reluctant to new technologies, praise digital photography. These people appreciate the macro because it makes life so much easier and loved one so much more visible in picture. These people are happy to see others see in their picture the exact thing they wanted to point out, they like the picture as they imagined it and do not want other to have different views. And are thankful for having flash when the light is not so good and they still want to take a picture.

No matter where you stand in this debate, the truth is that digital photography is not here to ruin the taste of classic photos. This concept made possible so many picture variations and attracted so much more people to photography that it can’t be so bad.. photo printing services
