Had Enough Of Digital Camera Hype?
June 30, 2009 | Leave a Comment
Both cameras have a two and a half inch viewing screen and movie capabilities. This model camera is compact and stylish for a camera with so many features. All Casio digital cameras are stylish, but some are a little harder to understand the many menu options.
Those problems may seem enough to talk you out of buying a Canon SD950IS digital, but here are a few more anyway. Photos taken higher than ISO 400 display high noise levels. Camera housing is very susceptible to scratching. Too many blurry pictures for a camera in at this price. Small buttons are awkward for users with larger hands. Steep learning curve with the menus. This buy cameras online and this don’t know what digital camera to buy should help.
Cheaper point and shoots, and even some more expensive point and shoots often have a problem with blurred or soft corners on their photographs. I wouldn’t expect to find that in a Pro Series Digital series camera, but there it is. If your main subject is generally framed in the center of the photo, this shouldn’t be a problem. If however you like to shoot a lot of landscape and big scenery photos, you won’t be happy with the results.
A few other complaints with the Canon SD870IS Digital include. Less than stellar results at high ISO settings. Exposure setting is non adjustable. Far too many photos exhibit red eye subjects. Shooting videos restricts manual adjustments of focus and zoom settings.
The biggest problem with the SD950IS is the price. For about half the price, you can get a multitude of point and shoot cameras that will work just as well. And, for a couple of hundred dollars more, your looking at some near pro level cameras in the entry level SLR category. Any point and shoot camera at this price, needs to walk on water. The SD950IS Digital can’t.
It’s a small problem, but I’m still going to mention it. This camera comes with a proprietary USB cable, which means it’s only produced by a single company. I like being able to choose.
Many users report that it is hard to learn about all the features that the camera has available. Although these problems are minor, you will want to consider any of these problems before buying a specific camera.
The problems that Panasonic digital cameras have are far and in between as with anything you buy.
