The Moment To Buy Your Next Digital Camera Has Arrived

So I started reading and going through tons of user reviews for digital SLR cameras, and I’ve narrowed my choices down to Sony A300 and the Nikon D60. I went to several stores to get comparisons of these two cameras until I finally settled on the D60. Why?

In my case, the D60′s going price went down thrice after I bought it, and Amazon quickly gave me a refund for the three times the price decreased. I recommend you do the same thing, just make sure you keep a constant watch on the price of your camera. Higher ISO values makes the camera more sensitive to light, which makes it possible to achieve faster shutter speeds under certain lighting conditions. If you’re not familiar with ISO settings, you can opt to use the Auto ISO function which automatically sets and matches the ISO and the aperture to ensure proper exposure at certain shutter speeds.

Don’t buy a camera you haven’t used before. Reading reviews and test scores won’t do you any good unless you actually see the camera. It is very important to check out its design because if it won’t be comfortable in your hand then it’s not the right camera for you.

The downside, however, is that Minolta SLR camera models seem to have a two to three year lifespan. I used the QTsi for two years until I began to experience electrical problems with it. Two of my friends who also used Minolta cameras complained of the same thing after using their SLRs for two to three years. Another drawback is that the Minolta Maxxum QTsi doesn’t have a B or Bulb mode, so you can’t use it for astrophotography or for taking longer exposure pictures.

Out of all the models I tried, the best Fuji digital camera was the Finepix S1000fd, with an optical zoom of 12x and 10 megapixels. The resolution of the camera is good enough for you to print photos at 18 x 24 inches. The LCD screen has 2.7 inches. Some of the its features are red eye removal, panorama shooting mode and picture stabilization. The photos you take can be stored on SD/SDHC and xD memory cards.

What’s great about the quick advancement of technology is that the cost of buying a digital SLR has decreased a lot, and their prices are similar with those of compact cameras in the high end. Since more people can buy them now, they also need to know more about how they work.
