Life is Like a Cup of Coffee

Drageda.com

Hi! I'm "Drageda"

“Without Effort and Knowledge,

the Heart isn’t Strong Enough

to Carry the Dream”,

by, Barbara Tremblay Cipak

Most of the poetry and videos you’ll find on this website are my own work.

However I had to post this video called, Life is Like a Cup of Coffee”…it’s message is so moving, it could reduce you to tears. The music selection is also powerful. If you’re feeling reflective, you’ll truly enjoy this one, so don’t hesitate to press play.

Here’s one of my Videos on Youtube – Remember Who I Am

(Verse 1)
I’ve walked my roads without shortcuts
And missed so many turns
I’ve stopped along my journey
And outright refused to learn
But somewhere in my spirit
Is a light I’ll never fully comprehend
It takes me through my painful chapters
To reach my story’s end

(Chorus)
In my deepest darkest days
I cry
In my deepest darkest days
I die
In my deepest darkest days
I learn to try
I reach for the sky
With my arms open high
And always remember who I am

(Verse 2)
This road is long, the book a million pages
At times I get so tired
I have to read and walk in stages
But there is a power beneath my feet
That allows me to float on stressful days
Not knowing how or even why
I suddenly turn that page

(Chorus)
In my deepest darkest days
I cry
In my deepest darkest days
I die
In my deepest darkest days
I learn to try
I reach for the sky
With my arms open high
And always remember who I am

(Verse 3)
The voyage traveled is my narrative
Remembering who I am imperative
It’s my contribution to this place
I signature in stone…
It’s not the battles failed,
it is the journey flown

(Chorus)
In my deepest darkest days
I cry
In my deepest darkest days
I die
In my deepest darkest days
I learn to try
I reach for the sky
With my arms open high
And always remember who I am

I will affirm; I’ve made a difference
Remembering who I am,
please remember who I am

Bonus: Listen to my Original Song, I Am My Mother’s Daughter

Happy 50th Anniversary Mom & Dad , Love From All of us, xxoo
Created for personal use only and picked three great songs to feature this family memory, Kenny Rogers “Through The Years”, “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong, and “Don’t Blink” by Kenny Chesney.

One More Step to Take

Just one more step to take
while finish lines
define destiny
breathlessly I stop
and wait
should I cross?
this race is mine to win…
but hush!
time creates a pause
and as I stare at the gate
In a moment that is now,
I cry
because victory means goodbye
and beat down by persistence
I no longer know why
selfish eyes controlled my feet
so resolute, I return,
and do not cross over
for I have many more steps to take
and reluctantly admit…
a great deal to learn

Angel Wings

There is something profoundly beautiful, almost peaceful about seeing the wings of angels. It’s as though they have all the answers and they wish we could see those answers.

This song, takes your heart, holds it tight, and for just over three minutes makes you forget that the world has so many problems. The wings of angels hold us, as does this song

In being so inspired by Angels, and the beauty of their wings, this video poem talks about “Angels on Duty” surrounding us each day with the intention of helping us through our day.

In God We Are One Family

The world cries tears,
it bleeds for a peace,
it suffers in silence,
the mountains look down on us,
the waters rise and fall,
Rustling leaves on the big oak
try desperately to get our attention…
“know us”, they scream
“We are here,
forever we have been here,
we give you life”
You breathe air because of us,
your growth is from our mother,
as your brother and sister
we ask one thing from you,
just one,
“love us too, we are family”

Compassion

To the one who hurt us
do we hurt back
or do we show mercy
To the one who lied to us
do we lie back
or do we lead with honor
To the one who cheated us
do we cheat back
or do we forgive
To the one who hates us
do we hate back
or do we live only with love
To the one who stole from us
do we steal back
or do we give clemency
To the one who is jealous of us
do we bathe in it
or do we uplift them
To the one who makes a mistake
do we judge them
or do we remember our own mistakes
To the one who is weak
do we walk by
or do we help them
To the one who cannot love
do we pity them
or do we show compassion
To live in a wonderful world
do we remember
we must first master ourselves

Self Awareness – I Can’t

I can’t judge you
I’m too busy judging myself
I can’t hate you
I’m too busy learning about myself
I can’t envy you
I’m too busy competing with myself
I can’t expect anything from you
I’m too busy expecting the best from myself
I can love you
By loving myself

Tolerance

Hold my hand
then judge me
Or better
Feel my sameness,
Look me in the eye
then tell me I don’t matter
Or better
See I am you,
Sit at my dinner table
Sharing food and conversation
then tell me I’m not worthy
Or better
Understand my hunger is like yours,
Take a walk with me
then hate where I live
Or better
Understand my plight,
Watch my children play
and tell me they are expendable
Or better
Love them as your own,
As I hold your hand
Look in your eyes
Eat at your table
Walk with you
Understand your plight
And watch your children play,
I know I want to be better too
