The Poets Dance

I listen to your words
I listen to your poems
I listen carefully
for in the words
I know you
You have unwittingly cast me
as the lead in your stories
Through you I know myself
Each of us so unique
Yet identical in our urge to paint portraits
of our deepest dreams
failed choices
and humble successes
You touch me with your need to sing out
your spirits mission to this world
Together we deliver the unsung songs
Gathering as one voice
Expecting nothing
We are blessed to unite in our message to humanity
that in each of us is dance
a glorious dance
I’m never alone for in your words
I embrace your Holy Spirit
and I dance the Poets Dance with You

Poem for Poets: This poem pretty much speaks for itself. It’s a poem dedicated to poets. Often times when we read a poem we see ourselves, our lives, in that poem. As in music, it is in poetry. So this poem is dedicated to the poet who tells his or her story but “unwittingly casts us” in them.

The Butterfly Dance

Chasing dreams like butterfly hunters
calculated swings or a free sweeping swoosh
Destiny defined with mathematical precision
or passions tasted in sips like wine
Opposing forces threaten clarity
but worse steal time from dreams
Our soul embraces truth
only speaking when we listen
Haunting sounds of the harp
call us to our plan
Do we assess the instrument
or hear soothing angels play the answers
With magical sounds of the intangible hugging us
Do we squeeze tightly
whimsically swaying to the butterfly dance
hoping to discover
the ultimate scientific formula,
Faith

Poem, Faith: This poem is for those times in our life when we may be guilty of over analyzing our purpose. You know, the times when you think to yourself..”I have these dreams”…but “so what”..”so does everyone else, what makes mine so special”. That’s when sometimes we try to calculate our dreams..sorta figure them out..like a physics question. Thus begins the debate in our mind, do we simply forge ahead with our hearts, or do we calculate every step along the way to make them come true. But the big question is, will they come true? Am I worthy, am I passionate enough?

Take Me To Your Beautiful

Someday you’ll take me to your beautiful
And show me all the colors there
Someday you’ll take me to your plentiful
And show me time I’ve always had to spare
Someday you’ll take me to your peacefulness
And show me joy in quiet care
I need to feel your spiritual
Where we’ll climb upon your knowledge stair
Lead me to your wonderful
And show me how to dance without a single care
Fly me to your gloryness
Where music plays itself in air
Sing to me collective passions
The Choir freed from all despair
Let me live my life in comprehensiveness
Happiness my gift from prayer
Shine a light within my beautiful
And show me every color there

Poem, Our True Self, Our Secret Place: This poem, when you first read it, sounds as though it’s speaking about passing to the next life. Actually, this poem is written about the place in ourselves, in our spirit, that is untouchable. Through all the stress, pain, confusion and struggles life presents to us, there is, inside of us, a place..our secret place…that nobody is able to penetrate. Personally, I’m able to tap into this inner sanctuary and hope others can find a way to know “that which is only theirs to keep”. This is a place where people cannot piggy back their problems and actions onto you. Visualize it as an inner light sorta swirling in the middle of your tummy. It’s you. It’s the real “you”. The untouched “you”. The “you” despite the imprint the world has made on your character. The “you” that simply “is”. Your own personal connection to heaven. Almost like a reminder that we are not to let this life overwhelm and consume us to any breaking point because this place is our inner connection to where we really come from and when we are called home, this place will blossom like a flower. So stand strong in your day to day struggles and know that in you is a secret place that is only yours, and you are always and forever safe there.

Packin’ In My Dreams

45 years behind me
I’m startin’, reachin’ for the dream
I left my front porch crying
Only tears of fear
Then wiped my face
To keep it crystal clear

Your too old
You’ll unfold
They’ll laugh at your attempt
Get back in the house!
Cook a meal !!
Don’t continue.
Check the menu.
The kids are needin’ ya now!
Leave your dreams.
Give it up.
Hubby’s havin’ a cow.

I had my dream evaluated
Measured, tested, and weighed
All the experts told me
I really should have stayed…
home on another cookin’ course!
Well I’m not a cook or waiter
So instead of changing all my dreams
I traded in ‘the evaluator’
“neeeeeeeeeeeeeext!” that’s my theme!

Song Lyrics, About Not QUITING!: Packin’ In My Dreams: Today was the first day of the rest of my life – SORRY FOR THE CLICHE!! *gag* But really, I did take steps today, outside of my comfort zone to seriously pursue “my dreams” of being a songwriter/lyricist. I sure hope I really am “packin’ for seven someday! In truth, nobody in my house is stopping me from chasing my dreams. My husband is very supportive. The only person stopping me was (is) “me”. *slaps own face*

Miracles From the Soul

I’m feeling so much beauty around me,
I’m busting out at the seams,
The moments of joy
The remembrance of things not tangible
Things real
Moments lived with blazing glory and sunshine smiles
Transference of these moments to this time now
In seemingly unrelated bits of joy
Watching a TV show
Remembering joy,
Typing a word
Feeling that joy,
Unexpected bliss
A complete life summation
Of only moments joyous
Glowing gifts without explanation
Miracles coming straight from the soul

By Barbara Tremblay Cipak

Poem, Soul: Do you ever have moments in your life when all of sudden a burst of happiness and peace swarm over you for absolutely no reason that you can think of. In fact, have these moments come over you at a tough time in your life. In other words, these feelings of peace that momentarily consume you shouldn’t be happening according to the hectic, pressure filled day you’re having…Well go figure, I’ve had several of these moments. I have to say, I love them too. They are such a gift..I call them “Miracles from the Soul”..and that’s what inspired me to write this poem. I hope you have many Miracles from the Soul too.

Listen to Me

Listen to Me
I am tired of being ignored!
You stand there doing the dishes,
you don’t even hear me!
I am screaming at you!!!
Open your eyes to me
You can’t live without me,
I am the one. I define you.
It’s your Soul speaking!!
pay some attention! NOW!
Face it, you were meant to do more!
be more…
Put down the dish cloth this very second
and Dance with me

By Barbara Tremblay Cipak

Poem, Listen To Me! – Written as a reminder to “self” to go for it. Knowing who we are “authentically” is the challenge. Seems like we’re all so busy, we forget, or don’t even know what our true passions are. “I Am Here”.

I Am Here

Can you see me?
Do you know me?
I’m trying desperately to be heard
In the silence of your nights
I am here
In the panic of your days
I am here
Stop and listen,
just for one precious minute…
Can you feel the warmth of light?
Let’s be still,
not a whisper…shhh,
Now can you hear me??
I am your essence, forever you
Your very being
I know your purpose, your destiny
Know me, I am you,
I am your soul and I am right here
Set me free and I will teach you to fly

Poem, Soul Searching: Are we so busy that we no longer attempt to remember our deepest passions. The years go by and we tend to lose ourselves in day to day “details”. Strangely enough we even find comfort in the patterns of our life. Serving the needs of others is a very noble thing for us to do, however, losing ourselves in the process isn’t helpful to anyone. “I Am Here” is a short poem reminding us to stop and listen.
