And, hey, thanks for listening to….
Kiss My Assets!

(VERSE 1)
Just to think last night you laughed at me
Said poor white trash is all I would ever be
You wouldn’t waste your so precious time
I’m on a dead-end road,you can see the signs
You say you’re busy when I call your phone
Even had your brother tell me to leave it alone
You wouldn’t believe how I was so depressed
I spent my last dollar at the convenient express
I was wondering since I haven’t been around
Could you hear me laughing,on your side of town

(CHORUS)
3, 15, 27, 6, 19, 11
Missed my invite to your party
and apparently you think I can’t dance
“hit the road buddy”
think that’s what you said?
“you’ve two left feet,
no brain in that head”
think ya even wished me dead?
3, 15, 27, 6, 19, 11
my ticket “a done come’in”
shoulda heard that terminal sing…
bought the Dance Hall, the Flower Shop,
and Alvin’s Funeral Home,
sent you an invite to my
“If I were Dead Party”…
just planning ahead is all,
‘case I slip and fall…or some’in
thought you could help me
pick out my casket
so come on over, it’s all good,
too tired to help?
then just Kiss My Assets!

(VERSE 2)
You wouldn’t give me the time of day
Now you hang on every word I say
Every girl on my block wouldn’t speak
Now I get flowers every day of the week
No-one would give me a ride in their car
Now I have a limo, “hot damn I’m a star!”
You want to know if You can hang out too
Well its funny, I don’t have any time for you

(BRIDGE TO FINAL CHORUS)
but wait! let me check my schedule
maybe I can fit you in,
I can see you at 3:15 in 2027
or 6:19 in 2011
I’ve hit the road
gone searching for brains
so forgive me, I’m a little booked up
busy hosting “if I were dead parties” and such
just planning ahead is all,
‘case I slip and fall…or some’in
are ya having any regrets yet?
well just buckle up and pucker up
cause honey
you can Kiss My Assets!

The Tango of My Life

I’m leaving this party
I’m out of this town
I’m not your play thing
I’m not your friend
Being true to me first
Means I’ll love again
This story of mine waits for me
To create the middle and the happy end
Since you took the beginning
there’s one thing I control
that’s this journey,
and what I see around that bend

I dance and cry
Does that make sense
No it doesn’t!
One moment I’m spent
The next I’m beginning again
The tango of my life
The tears of my song
Bring me along this journey
a million miles
so long, so long, so long
to this world of wrong

Driving a million miles away from you
Makes me true
True to me, And what’s ahead
Yesterday I fell, I cried, I lied,
Today
I drive, I drive, I drive
Away from you
Where I know I’ll find me,

I’m sad
I’m scared
I’m lonely
And you know
I’m anxious to know where
This road leads
With the dust behind me,
And the sun above,
I’m ready,
I’m moving on

Don’t cry
Cause I’ve stopped
And what use to be tears
are sunshine spots
little specks of hope
all dried up
they’ve taught me to cope
to push on, to see around the corner
to dream of what’s ahead
to leave my past behind…
enough said!!!

it’s time to drive, a country mile,
a long country mile,
time to look ahead
time to say one more thing…
see ya bye, the end!

I Love You (Song Lyrics)

Love is getting better
Life is getting easier
You’re my reason
It’s you
My hope
It’s you

Lifted to the light
I shine
Uplifted I’m not the same
With you in my heart
I sing
I sing
I sing
In your name

Love is getting easier
Life is getting better
You’re the reason
It’s you
It’s you
It’s you
I sing in your name

Surrounded by beauty
My life shines, it shines so bright,
Shines with hope
That others feel the same
That others live to love
To sing in their name
To hold onto the best of life
And let the rest fade
It’s love
It’s love
It’s love
..and that’s why I sing in your name

I sing in your name for all to hear
I hold you close
When I love…
I Love You
I Love You
I Love You
And this life….

In The Darkness of the Night

In the darkness of the night
I cried a broken heart
I dried a blood stained tear
In the darkness of the night
I wished that you were here
to crush this thing called fear
please don’t leave me now
when things may not seem clear
’cause without you by my side
without you being here
I’de die a thousand deaths
in each and every tear

Your life has been my teacher
Your strength  has showed me how
as I’ve faded into black
You’ve lifted me from shadows
you seemed to bring me back
by knowing what I lack
please don’t leave me now
you can count on me to stay
’cause all I need is you
to wipe these tears away
I’de live a million years
to see you every day

In the darkness of the night
please mend my broken heart
please kiss away these tears
In the darkness of the night
please crush this thing called fear
I wish that you were here
I wish that you were here
it hurts to bleed this fear
it just hurts

I Am My Mothers Daughter

“Listen to the Song” – I Am My Mothers Daughter

(VERSE 1)
She sits alone

rewinding her life story

wondering did she do enough

does she know I Am all I Am because of her

found my place in this world

‘cause of the shoulders she let me lean on

‘cause of the tears she wiped away

does she know I love my life

‘cause of how she paved my paths

does she know when I lay my head down

I thank her first and last

for what she’s given of herself

and though many years have passed

I am now a woman who can see

my mother’s life story told through me

(CHORUS)

I am my mothers daughter

I am the light that shines for others

cause she let her light shine bright on me

I am my mothers daughter

filled with hope during adversity

I am my mothers daughter

she’s forever in my heart

I am my mothers daughter

I am her work of art

(VERSE 2)

Holding my child I know

I hold a piece of my mothers love

she put me first so many times

as I will do for mine

‘cause of the lessons she always taught me

‘cause of the way in which she carried herself

does she know I gather strength from her

‘cause of her compassionate grace

does she know I pass the stories down

for her grandkids to embrace

(BRIDGE to FINAL CHORUS)

As my children’s life begin

I am my mother’s student painter

who loves with all her heart

because…

I am my mothers daughter

I am the light that shines for others

cause she let her light shine bright on me

I am my mothers daughter

filled with hope during adversity

I am my mothers daughter

she’s forever in my heart

I am my mothers daughter

I am her work of art

Song dedicated to my mother, but written for all mothers.

Elvis Saved My Life

(VERSE ONE)

Parked at Lover’s Lane

holding Billy’s hand

his eyes connected deeply to mine

he was looking lookin’ to be my man

that radio was playin’ “kiss me all the way songs”

we felt our bodies melting and lock

and I was ready to go along

’til the DJ woke us up

and out blared “Jailhouse Rock”

his lips backed off of mine, and

Yes! our mood changed on a dime!

(CHORUS)

It could’a ‘bin

Babies & Bottles

before my time

It could’a ‘bin tears and stolen years

It could’a ‘bin a memory I wished to forget

It could’a ‘bin my longest good night

and yet,

that’s right,

Elvis saved my life that night

(VERSE 2)

The summer of ’62

he took me to dinner

and spent a lot’a money too

It was seafood, smiles and footsie’s under our table

It was champagne and a toast to us

He stood tall like such a man

asked me to dance

we were hand in hand

spinning me into his grasp

he said “guess you know I’m not usually a big spender”

and with a nod towards the band they started to play

“Love Me Tender”

“Marry Me” spoke his lips as they melted into mine

and Yes! you guessed it,

Our mood changed on a dime!

(CHORUS)

It could’a ‘bin

Babies and Bottles

before our time

It coulda’ bin

tears and stolen years

instead of a memory we’ll never forget

It was our longest kiss goodnight

and Yes!

that’s Right!

Elvis saved my life that night

(VERSE 3)

He was sixteen, she was twenty-one

Billy and I deeply in love

with both our daughter and our son

She was off to college

and we were worried

cause that night our boy was taking his girl

to that kissin’ spot up on that hill

so we took a drive to our favorite place in the meadow

when the radio started to play the saddest song

we ever heard

about a mother and the ghetto

and we knew then

he’d be just fine

as we shared the greatest gift of all

our smiles and peace of mind

and Yes! our mood changed on a dime

(FINAL CHORUS)

It was Babies and Bottles

when it was time

it was love and laughter

through all our years

It was memories we never forget

our life goes on

and we’re reminded by song

that it’s all right

Yes, all is right,

and it was Elvis who saved our life those nights

You’re Sitting on My Life

Sarcastic T-Shirt,
Sarcastic T-Shirt, “You’re Sitting on My Life” by originalquotes

The front door swung open and blew in my world
The winds of pain
the air of heartache
Invites herself in
it wasn’t my plan
I’m not negative but here she comes anyway
Trying to steal my day, trying to have her way

(CHORUS)
Holding this force ripping it down
I’m not yours for the taking
Get out of my life
I don’t want to fight
You can’t win, I won’t lose
You’re leaving

(VERSE 2)
Stuck in the vortex called “YOUR WORLD”
I rip off my iron cast
Don’t think for a minute your garbage is mine
I’m in it, I’m done trying,
I’m past all your trash, my time’s moving fast
You’re in it, I’m done lying
Move over you’re sitting on my life

(CHORUS)
Holding this force ripping it down
I’m not yours for the taking
Get out of my life
I don’t want to fight
You can’t win, I won’t lose
You’re leaving

(VERSE 3)
I’ve set myself free from your negativity
Stop crying rainbow tears in black
the color of your heart, like mine, is pink
you can’t change that, with the way you think,
you can’t change that in me
I cry tears to be away from you,
Crushed, I’m positively free

(BRIDGE TO CHORUS) Holding a force
Knowing my course
I travel the distance without you
I’m never without you
But I’m free, positively free
Get out of my life
I don’t want to fight
You can’t win,
I won’t lose
You’re leaving
You’re leaving

Song Lyrics: “You’re Sitting On My Life (You’re Leaving)”…A song about having to let go of what doesn’t work for you. Knowing you’ll never be free from the anguish either way, you do it anyway. This is the peace you choose, eventhough it hurts.
