I Love You (Song Lyrics)

Love is getting better
Life is getting easier
You’re my reason
It’s you
My hope
It’s you

Lifted to the light
I shine
Uplifted I’m not the same
With you in my heart
I sing
I sing
I sing
In your name

Love is getting easier
Life is getting better
You’re the reason
It’s you
It’s you
It’s you
I sing in your name

Surrounded by beauty
My life shines, it shines so bright,
Shines with hope
That others feel the same
That others live to love
To sing in their name
To hold onto the best of life
And let the rest fade
It’s love
It’s love
It’s love
..and that’s why I sing in your name

I sing in your name for all to hear
I hold you close
When I love…
I Love You
I Love You
I Love You
And this life….

Elvis Saved My Life

(VERSE ONE)

Parked at Lover’s Lane

holding Billy’s hand

his eyes connected deeply to mine

he was looking lookin’ to be my man

that radio was playin’ “kiss me all the way songs”

we felt our bodies melting and lock

and I was ready to go along

’til the DJ woke us up

and out blared “Jailhouse Rock”

his lips backed off of mine, and

Yes! our mood changed on a dime!

(CHORUS)

It could’a ‘bin

Babies & Bottles

before my time

It could’a ‘bin tears and stolen years

It could’a ‘bin a memory I wished to forget

It could’a ‘bin my longest good night

and yet,

that’s right,

Elvis saved my life that night

(VERSE 2)

The summer of ‘62

he took me to dinner

and spent a lot’a money too

It was seafood, smiles and footsie’s under our table

It was champagne and a toast to us

He stood tall like such a man

asked me to dance

we were hand in hand

spinning me into his grasp

he said “guess you know I’m not usually a big spender”

and with a nod towards the band they started to play

“Love Me Tender”

“Marry Me” spoke his lips as they melted into mine

and Yes! you guessed it,

Our mood changed on a dime!

(CHORUS)

It could’a ‘bin

Babies and Bottles

before our time

It coulda’ bin

tears and stolen years

instead of a memory we’ll never forget

It was our longest kiss goodnight

and Yes!

that’s Right!

Elvis saved my life that night

(VERSE 3)

He was sixteen, she was twenty-one

Billy and I deeply in love

with both our daughter and our son

She was off to college

and we were worried

cause that night our boy was taking his girl

to that kissin’ spot up on that hill

so we took a drive to our favorite place in the meadow

when the radio started to play the saddest song

we ever heard

about a mother and the ghetto

and we knew then

he’d be just fine

as we shared the greatest gift of all

our smiles and peace of mind

and Yes! our mood changed on a dime

(FINAL CHORUS)

It was Babies and Bottles

when it was time

it was love and laughter

through all our years

It was memories we never forget

our life goes on

and we’re reminded by song

that it’s all right

Yes, all is right,

and it was Elvis who saved our life those nights

When A Son Loses His Father

Now that he’s without him
what is he working for
He had never truly realized
His dad drove him to want more
With working came acceptance
replaced emotions he concedes and his father unavailable,
he kept his schedule filled with deeds,
When his father passed away
it broke him to the core
just learning he and his dad
had things in common they stood for
His dad had loved unconditionally,
despite his character flaws
and perhaps was thinking he’d call his son
when the winter thaws
but winters came and went
and neither reached to call
yet they truly loved each other
despite their voices being awol
His imperfect life with his Dad,
is now the oddest gift he treasures
He’s vowed to be a father
for his sons to proudly measure
He says “I love you” to his kids,
and has being saying so for many years
then thinks of what he missed
with his Dad,
and it reduces him to tears
Nothing can make that emptiness go
he carries the lesson learned
Knowing now to speak his love out loud
not said to be returned
When a son loses his father
a part of himself fades into the light
as do the words he rarely stated,
like, “Dad, nice to hear from you tonight”
or picking up the phone to say,
“hi dad, did you just hear”,
are calls he wished he’d made
while he wipes away a tear,
Now in a prayer he says, “I love you Dad”,
to the heavens he kneels and pleads
and wonders if his fathers knows
that his love’s so strong, it bleeds
“Dad, in case you didn’t know it,
I love you more than I can say
I always tell my kids I love them
I learned that the hard way,
and in my heart,
my father,
you shall always stay”.

(VERSE TWO)
When a son loses his father
a part of himself fades into the light
as do the words he rarely stated,
like, “Dad, nice to hear from you tonight”

“hi dad, did you just hear”,

(BRIDGE into Final Chorus)
Winters passed into the night
like this father and this son
too late to change the way it went
too late to change a wrong, he says
“Goodbye my father,
I love you more than I thought I might
and Despite my life’s hard journey
in my heart there’s only light
and to have this love in me,
you must have done a few things right”

Although winters came and went
and neither reached to call
they truly loved each other
despite their voices being awol
Nothing can make that emptiness go
he carries the lesson learned
Knowing now to speak his love out loud
not said to be returned
“Dad, I’m sure you truly know it,
I love you more than I can say
because I always tell my kids I love them
I learned from our mistakes,
and in my heart,
my father,
you shall always stay”.

When A Son Loses His Father: Do you know someone who has experienced this type of gut-wrenching loss? Unfortunately this pain may be a sad truth, with some what of a hopeful ending, for many people. This was hard to write, for many reasons.

I Found Love On A Computer Screen

(VERSE 1)
(FEMALE PART)
I wasn’t looking for a friendship
was only wanting a little fun
but every time I’de hit send
he’d respond to everyone
he told me about his family
and all the love lost in his life
I told him not to worry
someday he’d find the perfect wife
I told him about all my failed plans
and all the things that make me cry
his advice came instantly
cause he’d always hit reply

(CHORUS)
(FEMALE VOICE)
He know’s how much I love chocolate
He know’s how much I love to dance
He know’s I love to slow-sip Champagne
He know’s I never take a chance
He listens to all my secrets,
and he tells me that’s ok
He never judges me for my faults
and he never walks away
You see we’ve never met each other
yet we talk ten times a day
I wonder if he knows how much I love him
because that’s never on display

(CHORUS)
(MALE VOICE)

She doesn’t mind my rowdy ways
She always compliments my written lines
She always knows just what to say
I see her everyday online…
wishing she were only mine
She never judges me for my faults
and she never walks away
You see we’ve never met each other
yet we talk ten times a day
I wonder if she knows how much I love her
She’d never believe me anyway…

(VERSE 2)
(MALE VOICE)
Who am I to find love anyway
it’s probably another illusion
but when I talk to her online
She erases my delusion
We talk and write and talk and write
the hours fade away
There’s no doubt in my mind
She’s the closest to an angel
I’ve ever seen
so how in the world do I tell her…
I found love on a computer screen

(CHORUS)
(FEMALE VOICE)
He know’s how much I love chocolate
He know’s how much I love to dance
He know’s I love to slow-sip Champagne
He know’s I never take a chance
He listens to all my secrets,
and he tells me that’s ok
He never judges me for my faults
and he never walks away
You see we’ve never met each other
yet we talk ten times a day
I wonder if he knows how much I love him
because that’s never on display

(CHORUS)
(MALE VOICE)
She doesn’t mind my rowdy ways
She always compliments my written lines
She always knows just what to say
I see her everyday online
wishing she were only mine
She never judges me for my faults
and she never walks away
You see we’ve never met each other
yet we talk ten times a day
I wonder if she knows how much I love her
She’d never believe me anyway…
…been practicing what to say
…Praying she felt the same way
The thought of it makes my knees go weak…

(FEMALE & MALE VOICE)
Do I have the nerve to speak…

(FEMALE & MALE VOICE)
You know me better than almost anyone
Do you know what I feel?
so much of me belongs to you now
I want to make this real
meet me in the park at noon
bring ten friends if you need
just tell me that you’re ready
I want to hold you
I concede
I’ve loved you my whole life
just didn’t know where you were
let’s take this happiness now
tell me you concur!
I’m not afraid to say
my feelings for you run deep
I hope you feel the way that I do
to take this chance, to take a leap
he’s (she’s) the closet to an angel
I’ve ever seen
so how I do I tell him (her)
I’ve found love on a computer screen,
my love is on this screen

Meet me in the park at noon?
