Anyway by Martina McBride is featured on her 2006 Album, ‘Waking Up Laughing’
The song was inspired by the famous poem initially written in 1968 by Dr. Kent M. Keith called The Paradoxical Commandments.
The poem’s popularity spanned the globe and was a known favorite of Mother Teresa’s, where it hung on the wall of her Children’s Home in India.
Many of us have seen the famous ‘Anyway’ quote floating around the internet. It’s often mistakenly credited to Mother Teresa when, as stipulated above, Dr. Kent M. Keith is the author.
Several decades after Dr. Keith wrote The Paradoxical Commandments, he expanded on the principles in the book titled ‘Anyway – The Paradoxical Commandments.’ The poem fast became known as the “Anyway’ Poem.
ANYWAY, The Meaning
The inspirational poem and song teach us to find strength no matter what we encounter along the way. If we love someone deeply, but they can’t love us back the same way, we should love them anyway. If we spend a lifetime building something from nothing and one storm blows it away, we should build it anyway. The words teach us to persevere during life’s trials and keep hope in our hearts no matter what comes our way.
As much as we wish for a pain-free life, there isn’t a soul on this planet who will live that life. We will have our plight, and some will suffer more than others. The Do It Anyway Song inspires us to maintain and nurture the love in our souls that we were innocently born with and never to lose faith.
