Anyway by Martina McBride is featured on her 2006 Album, ‘Waking Up Laughing’
The song was inspired by the famous poem originally written in 1968 by Dr. Kent M. Keith called The Paradoxical Commandments.
The poem’s popularity spanned the globe and in fact was a known favorite of Mother Teresa’s, where it hung on the wall of her Children’s Home in India.
Many of us have seen the famous ‘Anyway’ quote floating around the internet. It’s often mistakenly credited to Mother Teresa, when in fact, as stipulated above, Dr. Kent M. Keith is the author.
Several decades after Dr. Keith wrote The Paradoxical Commandments, he expanded on the principles outlined in the poem with a book titled ‘Anyway – The Paradoxical Commandments’. The poem fast became known as the “Anyway’ Poem.

ANYWAY, The Meaning
The inspirational poem and song teaches us to find meaning in life no matter what we encounter along the way; If we love someone deeply, but they can’t love us back the same way..love them anyway – If we spend a life time building something from nothing and one storm blows it away, build it anyway. The words teach us to persevere during life’s trials, and most of all to keep hope in our heart no matter what comes our way.
As much as we wish for a pain free life, there isn’t a soul on this planet who will live that kind of life. Each of us will have our plight, and some will suffer more than others. The Do It Anyway Song inspires us to maintain and nurture the love in our soul that we were innocently born with, and to never lose faith.
