Let’s seePoem about a Busy Mom - OOPs I forgot to PEE!
Up at three
Feed the baby
Back under the sheets
For a couple hours of sleep
Kids up for breakee
Gulping my tea desperately

Rush them to school gleefully
Walk the baby expediently
This being my time for me
Back home to clean insistently
Do three loads of laundry
Flee for groceries
Video Game Rentals late constantly
Go to work in my office impatiently
Where things have piled up overwhelmingly
Hubby claims I’m grumpy
Instead of crying I laugh hysterically
Baby bellows loudly
Time to change his nappy
Phone rings twenty times daily
Say I never call a bit angrily
Can’t explain my life so harry
Don’t want it to come out sounding scary
So I appologize gracefully
Kids home noisily
I’m panicky
My office work is not done completely
Oh well, its time to get them to hockey
Feed them first to keep them healthy
Bath time comes busily
Bedtime is love and kisses and favourite stories
Baby sleeping beautifully
My feet are up now restfully
Oops, I forgot to pee!
I assess my day on the toidy
Would I change my life at forty?
Are you kidding
Not this life’ inspired journey!

OOPS, I Forgot to PEE!
(AS SONG LYRICS)

(Verse)
Let’s see
Up at three
Feed the baby
Back under the sheets
For a couple hours of sleep
Kids up for breakeeeee
Gulping my tea desperately
Rush them to school gleefully
Walk the baby quickly
This being my time for me
(*sigh noise inserted here*)

(Chorus)
I know its not classy, borders on sassy
But OOPS! I forgot to Pee
Friends say I’m grumpy
Instead of crying I laugh hysterically
(*Note: belly laugh in chorus*)
Crossing my knees so know one sees
Cause OOPS! I forgot to Pee!!

(Verse)
Back home to clean insistently
Do three loads of laundry
Flee for groceries
Video Game Rentals late constantly
Go to work in my office impatiently
Where things have piled up overwhelmingly
Baby bellows loudly
Time to change his nappy!

(Chorus)
I know its not classy, borders on sassy
But OOPS! I forgot to Pee
Friends say I’m grumpy
Instead of crying I laugh hysterically …
(*Note: belly laugh in chorus*)
Crossing my knees so know one sees
Cause OOPS! I need to Pee!!

(Verse)
Phone rings twenty times daily
Say I never call a bit angrily
Can’t explain my life so harry
Don’t want it to come out sounding scary
So I appologize gracefully

( Another Verse..if needed)
Kids home noisily
I’m panicky
My office work is not done completely!
Bedtime is love and kisses and favourite stories
Baby sleeping beautifully
My feet are up now restfully
Whoa, I never did go Pee!

(Chorus)
I know its not classy, borders on sassy
But OOPS! I forgot to Pee
Hubby say’s I’m grumpy
Instead of crying I laugh hysterically
(*Note: belly laugh in chorus*)
Crossing my knees so know one sees
Cause there wasn’t any time to Pee!!….
(*Note: ends with a flush*)

Poem and/or Song Lyrics: OOPS! I Forgot to Pee: Written for the Busy Moms of the world: You wake up, can’t believe your schedule – and decide to laugh instead of hiding under the covers and crying! Perhaps it’s better not to think about all the things we busy parents have to do..it’s better to just go and do them..A “light-bulb” moment. Shocker.

  4. Cynthia says:

My favorite line: “Instead of crying I laugh hysterically”. Great reminder of how things used to be in our home. Glad in a lot of ways to say those crazy, hectic days are behind us. However, I miss them!

  5. Barbara says:

I never went through the infant and toddler years, but I did go through the sport, lessons, and carpool years, as well as the teen years. It never stops. You wrote a great poem/song about what it’s like.

  6. Thanks Barb – those sports, lessons and carpool years sure are busy years aren’t they

  7. Thanks Cynthia, lol – I know we did that sort of thing during those years didn’t we – for me a big thing then were when people would say ‘you never call’ …hahahaha! it’s like…a..well..because…I…was… – then I would just forget trying to explain it, and say, oh sorry. Had to include a comment on that part of life lol

  8. dawn rae says:

It may have been a long time ago… but I sure do remember those days!

  9. Dawn, me too, and I never thought I get the point where I’d say that lol
