A Letter From Dad in Heaven

All the fathers gather ’round
sitting on a cloud
they listen as they hear us shout
‘happy father’s day’ outloud
Then my own Dad stands up tall
and speaks these words of grace
he quietly whispers in my ear,
Baby girl, ‘I love this place’
Please don’t worry anymore,
you’ve spent too much time in pain,
I am your father
from the start of time
and with you I shall remain
As you walk through life
I hold your hand
and never leave your side
and that voice you hear inside your head
is my comfort when you cry
So go forward smiling in this life
’cause I’m watching from above
and when you think you can’t walk on
I carry you with love.

A Father’s Day in Heaven

Since my father passed away I’ve written a great deal about him, and for him. This father’s day, 2015, while sitting outside working, these words came to me in about a fifteen minute span. I decided to call it ‘A Letter from Dad in Heaven‘ because I was sure he whispered these words to me in preparation for this year’s upcoming father’s day.

Although this letter is from a dad to a daughter, the words ‘dad’ and ‘baby girl’ could easily be replaced to fit any loss, by any one. Blessings to you and yours.
