I SEE YOUR PAIN (Lyrics)
(PRE CHORUS)
I see your pain behind that smile
I know you’ve carried a lot for a while
I won’t cheapen what I see by calling it strong
you shouldn’t have had to battle
so much for so long
that kind of strength leaves scars
and it’s wrong
(VERSE 1)
You’ve been a fighter
a warrior, a hero to me,
your relentless struggles
created wounds that
very few people could see
I want you to know
with me you were never unseen
I watch you keep it together
behind self-crafted smiles
and you’ve done that
for such a very long while
(CHORUS)
I know I can’t fix things for you
and I know that’s not something
you want me to do
but I hope you can see
how much it hurts me
to watch you go through
this stress and agony,
you’ve taught us so much
through what you’ve endured
strength is just not a big enough word
(PRE VERSE)
So here is my wish
you’re long overdue
(VERSE 2)
I’ve summoned the sun
to shine especially on you
I’ve canceled the rain
to keep your skies morning blue
I’ve gathered the clouds
and sent them away
I explained how you need
completely clear days
I’ve collected the rocks
and put them aside
so your path will be clear
for the rest of your life
(CHORUS)
I know I can’t fix things for you
and I know that’s not something
you want me to do
but I hope you can see
how much it hurts me
to watch you go through
this stress and agony,
you’ve taught us so much
through what you’ve endured
strength is just not a big enough word
(BRIDGE)
Never a day goes by
that I don’t think of you
never a day goes by
that I wish there was more I could do
but you surprise me every day
in how you get through
I really hope I’m not the only one
who truly sees you
although you’re a hero
you deserve peace
only a life filled with sunflowers
and walks on the beach
(OUTRO CHORUS)
I’ve gathered the clouds
I’ve sent them away
I explained how you’ve earned
completely clear days
I’ve collected the rocks
and put them aside
so your path will be clear
for the rest of your life

THE STORY BEHIND THE LYRICS:
A Song to DEDICATE to THOSE in YOUR LIFE Who are GOING THROUGH A LOT: “I See Your Pain” is a deeply personal song born from watching people navigate massive, invisible struggles in silence. At the heart of this track is a truth I hold so dearly: people shouldn’t have to be strong all the time.
When someone is going through medical, emotional, financial, or relationship hardships, society often praises them by calling them a warrior. But that kind of relentless strength leaves scars, and I wanted to write a song that doesn’t cheapen what they carry by just slapping a label on it.
I wrote it as a song you can actually send or dedicate to someone in your life who is going through a lot, especially when you are at a loss for words and just do not know what to say. Sometimes, a song can hold the exact words you wish you could say out loud to let them know they are not alone.
This came from a dual inspiration. First, I was thinking of the people in my life, past and present, who walk around putting on self-crafted smiles while facing unbelievable ordeals. Second, I wrote this using a little exercise I practice where I sit beside my own soul, separating it from my body to watch and observe with total clarity.
Whether it is a friend, a family member, or a reminder to yourself, this song is a message that you are never unseen, you don’t have to carry it all alone, and more than anything, you deserve peace, clear days, and a life filled with sunflowers and walks on the beach.
A special dedication to my friend Margaret
