THE STORY BEHIND THE LYRICS:
I wrote and produced “Magic on Sunday” to add a new element to my Drageda Lyrics collection. My goal was to create something joyful, a bouncy track that people can add to their playlists for a sunny Sunday afternoon. Whether you are taking a walk in the park, unwinding, or simply looking to set aside life’s troubles, this song is designed to help you live in the moment and enjoy the day.
While producing this track, I leaned into a nostalgic sound to complement the lyrics I wrote. I wanted this piece to offer more than just a melody, so there is a genuine story woven into the words. The video depicts this narrative, following a couple as they intentionally put their other responsibilities on hold to focus solely on each other and the simple activities of their day.
I chose to arrange this as a duet to help both men and women connect with the importance of taking a much-needed break. I hope you enjoy the spirit of “Magic on Sunday” and that it makes a wonderful addition to your summer playlist.
