Rock this Quiet Little Country Town – ‘Cause Tonight It’s Bottoms Up

There’s something very appealing, almost infectious, about this song….if you’re like me, it may not hit you right away. Seeing the video over and over is what sealed the deal for me. I was hooked.

The first time I listened to the song was on Country Music Television; I heard it playing in the background on my kitchen TV while I was cooking. This song has grown on me, so much so, that when it’s played on the radio in my car, I’ll blast it!

Without a doubt, Mr. Brantley Gilbert has tremendous sex appeal in this video….this ‘tatted up’ bad boy keeps you watching from beginning to end. The song is sung in story format and is about he, his lover and friends partying tonight … ‘tonight it’s bottoms up’. This hot party video and song has a 1920 meets 2014 drama to it, featuring beautiful ladies in Flapper designed dresses, containers of illegal hooch, and a mansion that when entered has modern day dress, hair styles and instruments. I’m going to say it again, the entire thing is hot.

The way Brantley says this line ‘and she’s doing it in daisy dukes’…well it’s pure shiver material *shudders* – Every time I hear the song, these seven words get me! And she’s not doing what you’re thinking in those daisy dukes either…sorry he’s only talking about dancing; ‘Damn girl I gotta tip my hat, Never thought a country song would make you move like that yeah, and she’s doing it in daisy dukes’.

That’s right. The song was released in December of 2013 and took no time to receive over 60,000 downloads. The song continues to rise in country radio and by March of 2014 has sold over 600,000 copies in just the USA. Apparently, Brantley’s fans, referring to themselves as ‘BG’ Nation’, seem to be growing in numbers! Incidentally, Gilbert pays homage to their dedication in the video by having himself referred to in the beginning as ‘BG’.

Who is Brantley Gilbert? Stats and Otherwise!

The ‘Otherwise’ part first: Ladies, I’m going out on a limb here…and it’s just a hunch…but I think this young man possesses a mysterious appeal, making him almost unattainable. There’s a distance about him. I suspect that mysterious nature is going to draw the attention of a lot of female eyes, and it may take a special someone to get to the very back of those eyes…if it happens. He was born January 20th, 1985 – He’s on the border of Capricorn and Aquarius…yep, it’s going to take a certain gal to ultimately nab this fellow…but of course, he’ll have to want to be nabbed.

His career is quickly on the rise, with two albums released to date, seven singles of which three of them peaked at number 1 on the US Country Charts; Country Must be Country Wide, You Don’t Know Her Like I Do, and Bottom’s Up. He’s received numerous country award nominations and won 4 of them, including Top New Male Artist at the ACM’s in 2013.

He released his album, Just As I Am on May 20, 2014.
